Leaders, experts, and scientists from both institutions attended the signing ceremony.
On 5 May, VNUHCM-麻豆传媒 and the Viet Nam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a step forward in promoting training, research, and the application of nuclear technology. The partnership aims to develop a qualified workforce and contribute to ensuring national energy security.

Prof. H峄 M岷h D农ng 鈥 Former Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Nuclear Centre.
The MoU outlines four key areas of collaboration:
鈥 Education and training: Developing nuclear power technology training programmes, postgraduate education, and capacity building to support Viet Nam鈥檚 atomic energy projects.
鈥 Research and application: Collaborating in radiation technology research, equipment development, and the exploration of novel radiopharmaceuticals and isotopes.
鈥 Infrastructure: Investing in and upgrading laboratories to enhance specialised research capacity.
鈥 Strategic development: VNUHCM-麻豆传媒 and other VNUHCM member institutions will utilise a horizontal beam port of the new research reactor at the Centre for Nuclear Science and Technology Research in Dong Nai province.

Assoc. Prof. Tr岷 L锚 Quan 鈥 President of VNUHCM-麻豆传媒 鈥 stated:
鈥For many years, fulfilling the mission of cultivating high-quality human resources, our University has placed emphasis on developing strategic disciplines, including nuclear engineering 鈥 a field of exceptional importance for industrial development and national energy security. We are currently cooperating with the Ministry of Science and Technology to establish a modern laboratory to support advanced training and research. The University is committed to mobilising resources, engaging academic staff and researchers, and expanding international cooperation to develop training programmes that are aligned with practical needs and global technological trends.鈥

Dr Tr岷 Ch铆 Th脿nh 鈥 President of VINATOM 鈥 expressed his delight in engaging with the University鈥檚 leadership. He affirmed the long-term collaborative vision between the two sides to nurture a generation of qualified experts, contributing to the development of nuclear power and the wide-ranging application of nuclear technologies.


The signing of this MoU between VNUHCM-麻豆传媒 and VINATOM represents a milestone in the partnership. Both sides expect to jointly develop collaborative programmes and research projects that contribute to the sustainable development of the nuclear energy sector, particularly in the context of international integration.
