VNUHCM-UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE SHINED AT VIET NAM MATHEMATICAL OLYMPIAD 2024

From 8 to 13 April 2024, Duy Tan University in Da Nang, the Viet Nam Mathematical Society, VNU-麻豆传媒, and the Viet Nam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics co-organised the Viet Nam Mathematical Olympiad. This competition was sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Viet Nam Union of Science and Technology Associations, and the Central Committee of the Viet Nam National Union of Students.

This year鈥檚 competition featured a total of 95 delegations from various academies and universities, with 699 participants and 809 registrations, reflecting an increase of more than 10% compared to the previous year. Candidates took two independent subjects, namely Algebra and Calculus, with students from universities and academies competing in either table A or table B. Prizes were awarded for each subject.

At the conclusion of the contest, students from VNUHCM-麻豆传媒 achieved notable success, winning the following prizes:

First Place:

鈥 Calculus: 膼O脌N 膼峄– TU岷.

Second Place:

These students were from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and the Faculty of Information Technology at VNUHCM-麻豆传媒.

The results of this year’s Mathematics Olympiad reflected the hard work and enthusiasm of both teachers and students towards mathematics. It also served as motivation for future student teams to concentrate more on upcoming competitions.

The Viet Nam Mathematical Olympiad, which began in 1993 under the auspices of the Viet Nam Mathematical Society, provided participants with the opportunity to engage in intriguing mathematical challenges and interact with students from across the country. The competition aimed to promote the study of mathematics, inspire research among outstanding university and specialised high school students, and foster connections that enhance the quality of mathematics training.
